Gigi’s life path and professional interests dance at the intersection of consciousness and health.

Her calling as a physician educator is to awaken awareness to create healing spaces, first within us and then around us as resilient, thriving individuals create resilient, thriving communities

Her passion for innovating population wellbeing education also transforms the role patients and healthcare professionals play in collaboration with healthcare institutions to create a more caring and healing culture for all.  As a member of the Care Collaboratory Gigi is inspired by the potential for individual and organizational wellbeing to create a healing ecosystem that can model healthcare delivery for the future.

Two decades as a board-certified Anesthesiologist and physician executive, followed by a 2-year fellowship through the University of Arizona College of Medicine’s Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, informed the creation of Simple Wisdom for the Journey educational experiences.  Gigi has a keen appreciation for the role underlying trauma, PTSD, and moral injury play in many of our generational societal challenges, including the ongoing epidemic of health professional burnout. She has been answering the current needs of our health professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic with her Simple Wisdom for Health Professionals Crash Cart Program Series.

Gigi loves reading, gardening, traveling, and spending time in nature, finding beauty in simple things.  As a native and resident of Louisiana, her direct experience of the population impacts of environmental trauma in recent years has informed her appreciation for the paradoxical role nature plays in our healing and resilience.  When she is not working, she can be found lovingly stewarding her property, and learning lessons the natural world teaches us about balance, stillness, wisdom, and the role the environment plays in our health and healing.
